A wicked show opening!

October 12, 2010

Macbeth has finally opened, and what an amazing opening it was! In this line of work, we are so lucky to perform to enthusiastic young audiences whose cheers and applause makes the show feel more like a rock concert than theatre. It also helps that the fight scene between Macbeth and Macduff is The Coolest Thing Ever.

Here’s to looking forward to two more weeks of sold-out performances!

Where 4 art thou Romeo?

April 12, 2010

Anyone who knows Shakespeare knows that the plays have an unlimited potential to be updated, reinterpreted, and transformed. Take the West Side Story re-imaging of Romeo & Juliet, for instance, or even (my personal favourite) Hamlet retold in The Lion King.

Now, everyone’s favourite star cross’d lovers will take part in a social media experiment – to have their story tweeted 140 characters at a time.

Could this be the next greatest retelling of Romeo & Juliet?
